Tips and Suggestions
Before You Go…
Download the My Disney Experience app, and if you already have the app be sure that you have it updated. It contains your dining reservations as well as maps of the parks, attraction wait times, showtimes, park hours, and allows you to do mobile food ordering. You will also be using the app to access Genie+ and to make Individual Attraction Selections.
Screenshot your reservations from your MDE app. In the event that Disney experiences any kind of a technology glitch, you’ll be able to show the cast members your reservations.
In the Parks
Arrive EARLY!
You will enjoy much shorter wait times if you plan to arrive in the parks an hour ahead of the opening time. This will allow you to get through security and be one of the first ones in line to enter the park. The first hour or so the park is open will have the shortest lines. If you arrive before rope drop, take advantage of getting to the most in-demand rides.
At this time, the most popular rides at each park are:
Magic Kingdom – Seven Dwarves Mine Train, Space Mountain, Peter Pan
Hollywood Studios – Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Rise of the Resistance, Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, and Slinky Dog Dash
Epcot – Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Frozen Ever After
Animal Kingdom – Pandora Flight of Passage, Na’vi River Journey
Park Hopping
If you’ve purchased a park hopper, you can switch to another park starting at 2 p.m. You don’t need to make a reservation, but you should check your MDE app to make sure the park you’re heading to is open for guests. You can also call (407) 560-5000 to find out which parks are open.
Take a Break
After lunch is a great time to head back to your resort and take a break! If you're staying at a Disney resort, or your resort is nearby, go relax with a nap or swim in the pool and miss the busiest hours and the longest attraction queues. Then head back to the parks, refreshed and ready to enjoy the rest of the day!
Ways to Keep Kids Entertained in Line
Download the Play Disney app to enjoy games, trivia, and interactive entertainment while you wait.
Purchase a lanyard and Disney pins (can be purchased before your trip), and let your kids trade pins with cast members as you wait in line.
Look for Hidden Mickeys in the queue and on the ride. The Hidden Mickeys book and/or app provide clues to find these.
