Early Park Entry

Guests staying in on-site Walt Disney World resorts and other select hotels have access to Early Theme Park Entry. Early Entry is offered at all 4 theme parks every single day and gives qualifying guests 30-minute access to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom prior to the official park opening.

Strategy for Early Park Hours

Our recommendation is to arrive least 30 minutes before Early Theme Park Entry starts. In other words, an hour or more before official park opening time. This will allow you to be closer to the front of the resort group and help in getting you to the front of the line at your chosen attraction once the resort guests are allowed inside.

Another reason to be there well ahead of the early entry is that it’s not unusual for parks–especially Disney’s Hollywood Studios–to quietly start Early Entry before its official time.

Magic Kingdom: If you have purchase Genie+, head to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train to ride it out without purchase a LL. If don’t have Genie+, then knock out some of the other major rides, like Peter Pan and Space Mountain, and plan to buy the 7DMT LL.

Hollywood Studios: I always recommend purchasing a LL for Rise of the Resistance, regardless of early entry. It’s a long ride and worth every penny of the extra cost. Then you can use the early hours to ride some of the other great rides, like Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway (my favorite!) or Slinky Dog Dash.

Epcot: If you’re entering via the SkyLiner or Boardwalk at the International Gateway, then head right to Remy’s. If you are coming in at the main gate from a bus or monorail, prioritize Frozen or Test Track, and ride those first.

Animal Kingdom: This one is easy! Go straight to Flight of Passage.
